DEALING WITH LIFE CHALLENGES
TRAUMA, ADDICTION & THE NERVOUS SYSTEM
THERAPY & SUPERVISION
Peggy continues to work as a therapist with individual clients, couples, families and groups, from the basis that each person is unique - as each nervous system is unique. The foundation of her approach is to explore the autonomic nervous system to find the sense of safety needed to move forward in whatever way is appropriate and effective, to cultivate healing and deal with any challenges.
Clients start by learning to gently tune-in, with the aim of finding a place of calm and internal belonging, so they can ultimately help themselves cultivate their own personal tools and practical techniques to befriend their own nervous systems and truly build resilience for the future. Whether you are an individual, couple, or family seeking therapeutic support and guidance, a practitioner needing supervision or a group/community wanting an event or training, feel free to get in touch with Peggy here.
One of the aspects of being a clinician in the mental health field that Peggy embraces fully is the requirement for continued education. Peggy’s curiosity is one of her greatest assets. Her drive to stay informed and to deepen her understanding of the human condition has resulted in an eclectic background. Her teachers and mentors have been some of the pioneers in the field of mental health. She brings an abundance of interventions to her work in order to be assured that she is offering the best possible path to healing and recovery to each unique individual, couple, and/or family she serves.
Her compassion, kindness, and genuine desire to help others to discover their inherent self-worth has, for decades, made Peggy a highly sought after clinician working with a variety of issues, whether they involve addiction, trauma, anxiety, depression, compulsive behaviors or everyday life challenges.
People come into our lives as teachers - good, bad or indifferent.
Every relationship teaches us something new about ourselves.

A UNIQUE APPROACH
Peggy offers a unique approach informed by her broad and diverse training from pioneers in the therapeutic fields of Family Systems, Addiction, Trauma, Somatic Experiencing, and Polyvagal Theory, in tandem with her own life experiences and nearly four decades of professional practice as a clinician, therapist, trainer, and consultant.
As a result, she has developed her own unique understanding and knowledge, which allowed her to create her own techniques of exploring recovery with clients and their families, helping communities and organizations thrive and supporting all those curious to make better lives and to have sustainable peace of mind. Decades of empirical professional and personal experience have all contributed to Peggy’s passion to bring this knowledge to the world.
THE LENS OF POLYVAGAL THEORY
A NERVOUS SYSTEM LENS
Our actions and ways of being in the world are deeply connected with our nervous systems. Throughout human history, cultures all over the world have found ways to ease anxiety and create safety for themselves, their families, communities, and the wider world. Peggy works across the board with diverse populations and organizations dealing with anything from practical executive problem solving (always more effective when approached from calm ground), to serious issues around trauma and addiction through a nervous system lens.
Her approach is open and flexible to older wisdom as well as established science, because both approaches have been shown to be effective. For example, in terms of the autonomic nervous system, simple breathing techniques of yoga are one of the most commonly cited practices for finding calm. The nervous system lens is fundamental to Peggy’s work and over the next few months she will be offering articles and interviews to illustrate and illuminate how she brings this into her personal and professional life.
TRAUMA WORK IN THERAPY & LIFE
THERAPY WITHOUT EGO
Peggy believes in ‘Therapy Without Ego’ - this is particularly apt at a time when so many ‘experts’ saturate the internet and our social media feeds with products and advice telling us what we need and what we are lacking. Peggy’s approach aims to help people help themselves because it is based on the innate fundamental wisdom we all have!
As it is becoming increasingly hard to navigate and filter the sheer amount of information available and coming at us online, we hope to demystify the landscape a little by curating a space offering resources which truly add value, and which may be most helpful to others in terms of navigating life’s challenges. Peggy will also be offering articles, free resources and events to share her own insights on trauma, addiction, Polyvagal Theory and the nervous system.
